  1. People v. Durr, 28 Ill.2d 308, 192 N.E.2d 379 (1963) [W] [L] Initially, in a 5-2 decision, the Illinois Supreme Court held that an informer’s tip, without identifying the informer, does not justify a lawful arrest which would justify a search without a warrant unless the informer were subject to cross examination. Subsequently, after the petition for rehearing was granted, the Illinois Supreme Court reversed itself, in a 4-3 decision, holding that a police officer can testify that a reliable informer’s tip can justify a lawful arrest with a search without a warrant.

  2. Stahulak v. City of Chicago, 184 Ill.2d 176, 703 N.E.2d 44, 234 Ill. Dec. 432, 1998 WL 664937, 159 L.R.R.M. (BNA) 2503, Ill., September 24, 1998 (No. 84104) The Illinois Supreme Court held that that only parties to a collective bargaining agreement have standing to challenge an arbitration award, and that an individual member of the union bargaining unit does not have such standing absent allegation that union bargaining unit breached its duty of fair representation.

  3. Stryker v. Village of Oak Park, 62 Ill.2d 523, 343 N.E.2d 919, Ill., January 26, 1976 (No. 47635) Statute intended to limit or deny home rule powers must contain express statement to that effect.
